Currnt Events

The Eyjafjallajokull volcano erupted in Iceland in 2004, but in 2010 the mountain was spewing out ash causing a hold up in air travel. The ash flowed about 15km in the air or about 9 miles. Volcanic activity is very common on this part of the planet because of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. There were about 10 million air line travelers that were affected by the ash from Eyjafjallajokull. Some of the travelers said that the shur-down of the air lines was an over reaction to the ash.
